FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you handle cancellations or rescheduling?

We understand that weather and unforeseen circumstances can affect your plans. If you need to reschedule your session for these reasons, we’re happy to provide a new date or a full refund. Please inform us as soon as possible if rescheduling is necessary.

During peak times, a non-refundable deposit may be required at the time of booking to secure your session.

How about travel fees?

We are based in Short Pump, VA, and offer free travel within a 25-mile radius, covering the greater Richmond area. For locations beyond that, there is a travel fee of $1 per mile. I will always inform you if travel fees apply.

What is your photography style?

I’m a documentary-style photographer who focuses on creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where you feel at ease.  The most authentic images happen when you are being yourself!

Through my real estate photography and videography work, I’m behind the camera almost every day, which keeps my technical skills sharp and allows me to make adjustments instinctively. That means you can stay in the moment without interruptions, while I quietly handle the details.

How many photos will we receive?

On average, you can expect to receive one photo for each minute of the session. However, the use of techniques like off-camera flash or more intricate setups may decrease the number of photos I’m able to take. If you have a specific number of photos you’re expecting, please let me know, and I’ll do my best to meet your expectations. Quality is always my priority, so I focus on delivering the best shots rather than just quantity.

How long will it take to get the final photos?

I pride myself on offering an industry-leading turnaround, with most clients receiving their photos within 2 days. However, I guarantee delivery within 7 days. If you need your photos sooner than that, please let me know, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your request.

How will we receive the photos (can I print them)?

You’ll receive your photos through an online gallery, where you can download both social media-resolution and full-resolution images. You’ll also have the option to purchase high-quality prints through a professional printing service.

I provide you with full print, download, and social media posting rights to your images. While Virginia law gives exclusive rights to the photographer under copyright law, I wholeheartedly support giving you complete access to print and share your images as you wish—no restrictions.

What payment methods do you accept?

My preferred payment methods are Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or cash. I also accept credit card payments through Stripe. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. For details, please review our Privacy Policy.

Can we include pets in the photoshoot?

Yes, pets are always welcome in your photoshoot! Just let me know in advance if you’ll be bringing a pet, and we can plan the session accordingly.

Can I get headshots of multiple employees in one session?

Yes, absolutely! Please reach out with your needs and I will craft a custom package.

What should I wear for headshots?

For headshots, I recommend wearing solid colors and avoiding busy patterns or logos, as they can be distracting. Choose clothing that makes you feel confident and reflects your professional style. Neutral tones like navy, gray, and black work well, but feel free to add a pop of color if it aligns with your personality or branding. It’s best to avoid clothing that might wrinkle easily. If you need help deciding, feel free to reach out, and I’d be happy to offer more guidance!

Why does photography cost so much?

Photography involves much more than just taking pictures. While the session itself is important, a significant portion of the cost comes from the time spent behind the scenes. For every hour of shooting, I typically spend around 3 hours culling and editing the images to ensure you receive the highest-quality results. This includes cropping, adjusting exposure and contrast, color correction, sharpening, noise reduction, removing unwanted elements, retouching skin blemishes, and making localized adjustments to specific areas of the image to enhance details and achieve a desired aesthetic. When you invest in professional photography, you’re paying for not only the session but the expertise and dedication that goes into delivering polished, high-quality images.
